  1. Thunderbird is a free email application that’s easy to set up and customize - and it’s loaded with great features!
  2. Mozilla Thunderbird. Start Thunderbird. From the Tools menu, select Account Settings. Select Outgoing Server from the left menu. Highlight the email account you want to edit and click Edit. Make sure the Allow insecure authentication option is unchecked. From the Connection security drop-down menu, select the desired option: SSL or none.
